The objective of this Concept Study was to design a play­ground that would stand out as a World class reference of quality, safety, originality and fun within the Marmara Forum shopping Mall, near to Bakirkov, on the Europe­an side of Istambul.

The available working space corresponded to a free area around 200m2, visible from all floors and with very big height. The intervening space should be eye catching, accessible and enjoyable for leisure and entertainment, fostering socializa­tion and active participation of children and their parents.

We named this playground “Marmara Wave World”, and themed it according to the name, creating a futuristic city within wavy walls, mixing a visually striking design with traditional elements such as the Turkish lamps. It´s unique equipment’s offered diversified functions, from the most traditional (to slide, climb, swing, bal­ance,…) to surprising technologies producing sound and light effects.
