Almada Forum, located on the Setúbal Peninsula, with a Gross Lettable Area of 78,815 m2, comprises 230 stores, including 12 anchor stores and a Hypermarket, distributed over the 3 floors of the Center and an Outdoor Commercial Park, and an area of leisure consisting of 14 cinema rooms with a 4DX room.
The Restoration area, made up of 40 restaurants, and served by a “Food-Court” with 1,200 seats and an outdoor terrace area, was inspired by an old fishing village recalling the old times of an Almada river related and the beaches of the neighboring Costa da Caparica.
At the main entrance we have “The Community square” with wide views of the Tagus River, the “25th of April Bridge”, “Cristo Rei” and a seating area with coffee. This area is characterized by its spaciousness and abundant natural light that make it a kind of winter garden. Two thematic squares with innovative decoration are other original proposals of the Centre. The Nature Square has natural plants and a waterfall under a grandiose glass dome.
Its outstanding architecture earned it the MIPIM Award 2003, which classifies this Center as the best Shopping Center in Europe, distinguishing it as the most notable real estate project of the year. It also received an ICSC 2003 Honorable Mention, in the category of Best Large Shopping Center in Europe. This Honorable Mention was awarded at the most important International Real Estate Fair. In 2004, it received the International Design and Development Award from ISCS, Best Shopping Center in the World, in the Development and Design Category.
This award-winning shopping center has given us the challenge of completely renovating its playground, located on the ground floor.
Thus, the Enchanted Forest of Almada Forum was born! A magical space for the youngest, between 3 and 12 years old, where it is possible to find 3 imposing tree houses, inspired by the old fishing villages also present in the “Food-Court”, a giant spiral slide, rope bridges, and other amusements surrounded by a natural environment. This playground is now the scene of lots of fun and games, every day, during the center’s opening hours, in the corridor of the education square, on floor 0. Fun is guaranteed at the Almada Forum, where both children and adults have all they need to be happy!
